things in my room

I cleaned my room today. On my desk, I can now see a sea shell that I brought home with me from Tasmania. It's flat and white, and looks as though it's been made up of layer upon thin layer of white crusty material cemented together with pasty organic glue.

There's also a piece of rock that Ly gave me. You know those car windows that crumble instead of shattering? The rock looks as though it's been made up of crumbly pieces from one of those windows; crumbly pieces which have been tinged with gritty red earth and then squashed for millions of years under the weight of something unimaginably heavy like a continental plate or something. And there are also shards of black crystal which have speared through the parts that look like pressurised crumbly bits.

I can also see a few gum leaves that I collected. They dried up months ago, and have been curly, dusty-green coloured shells for quite a while now.

Pretty!
