You guys are right, though. It's been a tough year, the things that happened made me question myself a lot, and for the most part, I've covered up my insecurities with self aggrandizing drivel. I suppose that any genuine attempts at self expression have just reinforced the deluded, phoney, egotistical nature of the rubbish I've been spewing out.

Having said that, for the record, The Byrds sing a pretty little song called "Turn Turn Turn". It's a bit kitsch and cheesy, but it's innocent and nice. I thought it'd be a suitable tongue-in-cheek soundtrack to the death of Mumbles, hence the song lyrics. If anybody else thinks that I'm now making attempts at writing poetry... oh no!
And I also hope that nobody else thought that I was trying make it out that I could speak French... in-jokes probably aren't meant for public blogs.
Still, sorry again for the big ego. Any time you see that, there's usually an insecure little twat hiding behind it. I'm trying to make it go away, but it's taking a while. I'm hoping it's not just me and that most of us go through these phases at some point in time. It'd be nice if you could bear with me.
If it's any consolation, for much of the year I haven't been very happy.

Man, I don't know who these people are who posted those comments up, but you are one of the most honest and caring person I know.
This blog, although it is in the Public Domain, is used by Gene to reflect on his inner journey.
He should be able to write what he thinks, thoughts not influenced by other people's opinions and definitely, not be judged by other people.
How bout you be a bit more considerate and not write any more negative comments?
Yeah gene...this is your blog and you can write whatever the hell you want.
You don't have to apologise to anyone. Especially not someone that logs on anonymously just to judge and criticise others.
ps. I like reading your blog and I definitely don't think it is "self aggrandizing drivel".
