boys will be boys

Well, so much for my clean bill of health. I may be limping around for a little while after being a typical young male and getting a bit of extended air time on a motorized two wheeled vehicle...

After fully relating to the lyrics of Yesterday right after leaving the hospital, and then spending the last few weeks fighting tooth and nail to be fit and strong again, I'm not surprised that I felt like proving my manhood to myself by hooning around like an idiot and stacking a bike.

At least I'm limping around because of a self-inflicted piece of idiocy related to being active. This may sound morbid, but I've felt this plenty of times before and don't hate the feeling. Basketball has turned me into an injured cripple plenty of times previously, and when that happens I still feel healthy, strong, and know that I'll recover fully. This time around, it's a pretty badly bruised thigh and a bit of a finger complaint. My left middle finger dislocated and looked wonky enough to belong in a horror movie, but I managed to yank it back in place before the adrenaline wore off. It doesn't feel fractured, but I'll get it checked out tomorrow to make sure. Yes, I know, and I'll say it again: Idiot.

Still, it was a great weekend and I had a fantastic time at the farm owned by Jesse's uncle and aunt. A perfect place to get away from it all, or let it all out, depending on your mood. I guess I did a bit of both.
