ambiguous
I’m feeling flat because it’s all just around the corner, just out of my line of sight. The flavour of the atmosphere seems ready to change at any second, so I wait. And when I wait, I’m nowhere.
My dad and I finished a section of the alpaca fence today. He was off in the distance, threading the wire that I was feeding him through fence posts. I heard a wave of rustling leaves coming towards me. A gust of wind sweeping down the valley. I saw hazy rain blur the horses up on the hill, and I felt the cold of the steel wire through the gritty dirt that my hands were coated in. For one clear moment, the games that I play with myself didn’t make sense any more.
